Happy Birthday America!
We were fortunate this year to spend Independence Day in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. We enjoyed the 4th of July Eve, eating Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and philly cheese cake, and listening to the Philly Pops and the reading of the Declaration of Independence with "Thomas Jefferson".

On the Fourth, we cheered on a wonderful parade in downtown Philly. Let the parade roll on.

We took our leave of Philadelphia and drove up the Hudson Valley in New York, visiting both the Vanderbilt and the Roosevelt Estates on the Hudson River.

Arriving in Winooski Vermont for a short stop over before whisking away Garyn and Jessica, we jump started our two week trip to Nova Scotia with a visit to New Hampshire Speedway to the NASCAR races. What an interesting slice of American Pie this is. We camped amongst 1000's of other RV's. Lucky us, we were parked right next to the DJ. Party from 6:00 p.m. to the wee hours of the morning. Thank goodness for earplugs!

Watching the people was as interesting as watching the races.
After the races, we headed north, stopping in Georgetown, Maine to visit Colfax Lion's Club Member Richard. We brought the corn, salad, and French bread. Richard treated us to lobsters and wine. It was a great evening. Even our travel bugs got to dance with the lobsters.

Too soon we said, goodbye and continued our journey north, stopping in Rockport, Searsport, and Bar Harbor Maine for two nights, enjoying the sights and doing a little hiking. Tomorrow we leave for Canada, so I am blogging like mad as we will loose our internet connection for awhile until we make appropriate WIFI arrangements.
